Mahad al Hasanaat al Burhaniyah (Henceforth referred to as MHB if necessary) is a division of Shu’oon Ammah – Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah. Please read the following document carefully to understand our policy regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.
We, at Mahad al Hasanaat al Burhaniiyah are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.
This policy (and any other documents referred to on it) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.
Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah is the foremost educational institute of the Dawoodi Bohra community. Its sole benefactor is His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS, who oversees and guides it in all its endeavours. The academy has been functioning from our present campus in Surat, India for over two centuries. Mahad al Hasanaat al Burhaniyah is thus functioning under the purview of said departmental authorities and is therefore a part of said institution viz. Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah.

We may collect and process the following data about you: Information that you provide either by filling in paper based forms or through forms on our website www.talabulilm.comor the sites of any Al Vazaratus Saifiyah e.g. www.its52.com, organisation (affiliated sites), including your local Jamaat, or any other official Dawat-e-Hadiyah organisation. This includes information provided at the time of registering with any official Dawat organisation, posting material or requesting further services. We may also ask you for information when you register for specific events, such as but not limited to Miqaats with Huzurala (tus) including Ashara Mubaraka (Miqaat), or when you report a problem with our site, or your personal profile records.
Information which is provided with your consent by third parties, such as your local Jamaat or any other official Dawat-e-Hadiyah organisatin, including details of your involvement in local organisations especially the Education Committee and local Jamaat committees.
If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence. We may also ask you to complete surveys from time to time that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them. Such research is to allow Al-Jamea-tus-Saifiyah, and more specifically Mahad al Hasanaat al Burhaniyah, to target various initiatives and programmes such as Miraathul Barakaat or educational programmes and Seminars in a relevant manner.
Details of your visits to our site or affiliated websites including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, and the resources that you access.
We may collect information about your computer, including where available, your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers. This is statistical data about our users' browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.
We use cookies, which are files stored locally on your hard drive by web sites to monitor your usage patterns and preferences. Our main server is located within the European Economic Area (EEA), but the data that we collect from you may also be transferred to, and stored at, a destination in India where MHB is located.
Your personal information will only be accessible and processed by persons designated by your local Jamaat (including any third party suppliers to the Jamaat), and will only be used for the purposes set out in this policy. It may also be processed by MHB staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for anyone of our suppliers. By submitting your personal information to us, you agree to these transfers, storage and processing.
We will take all steps necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this policy and any applicable laws, including the use of encryption technology where we deem it to be reasonably appropriate.
All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share the password with anyone. Except where prohibited by law, we are not responsible for any loss or damage caused by the unauthorized use of your password and log-in details, and also exclude ourselves from all liability for any direct or indirect losses caused by any breach of this policy.
You warrant that any information that you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and you provide any information on behalf of your spouse, children or other family members with their express consent, and fully indemnify MHB for any failure by you to obtain the proper consent. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we warrant that we will use strict procedures and security features to prevent unauthorised access.
We use information held about you in the following ways: To provide services beneficial to the individual and the community. To assist Al-Jamea-tus-Saifiyah and/or its affiliated organizations with research into the Dawoodi Bohra community and its demographics. To provide you with information and services that you request from us or other affiliated websites.
To help Al-Jamea-tus-Saifiyah or its affiliated organizations to provide you with assistance and services, including obtaining educational perks and benefits wherever and whenever possible.
We may also use your data, or permit selected third parties (affiliated to the Dawat-e-Hadiyah) to use your data, to provide you with information about their events and Miqaats which may be of interest to you. If you do not want us to use your data for the purposes set out in this policy, or to pass your details on to third parties for purposes relating to additional services or events, please tick the relevant box situated on the form on which we collect your data (the Profile form), or contact us at the address provided in this policy.
You also agree that we can retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, including research and analysis into the community and its demographics.
You agree that we may disclose your personal information to any affiliated organisation, which is part of the Al-Jamea-tus-Saifiyah or officially affiliated to the Dawat-e-Hadiyah, subject to the organization providing an undertaking to treat your personal information in a secure and reasonable manner. Such disclosure shall only be made where it is necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, and may require the transfer and processing of your data in locations around the world.
You also agree we may disclose your personal information to third parties in order to comply with any legal obligation, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Al-Jamea-tus-Saifiyah, or other Dawat affiliated organisations.
We will not process your personal data for purposes other than those set out in this policy.
Our site may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of Dawat affiliated organizations and other sites of interest. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. You are entitled to access information held about you by MHB, and to ensure that it is being held and processed fairly and reasonably. The data controller will attempt to respond to any such written request within 40 days of receipt.
Any changes we may make to our privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you by e-mail. Your continued use of the MHB facilities and services will constitute your consent to any such changes.
